War Museum Medemblik has 3,000 m2 of space dedicated to unknown, yet still important military operations during WOII. The citizen's side of the story is also extensively discussed. What makes this place particularly unique are the Experience Tours according to the 'escape room concept'.

Exhibition Road to Freedom

This exhibition is about the unknown, but important military operations during the Second World War. Such as the Red Ball Express transport operation and the many emergency bridges that were built in Europe. In this exhibition you can see the emergency bridge 'M2 Light Pontoon Bridge' and the most complete GMC Toolset left over from the war.

Experience Tour Road to Freedom

Step "into the shoes" of a soldier and interactively discover five unknown operations during WOII. Among other things, visitors help 'Jimmy Spencer' control cargo that had to be transported to the three million soldiers on the Western Front.

Exhibition Choices in Almersdorp

In this village, built and decorated in 40s style, civilian stories are the focus of attention. For example, discover the story behind the crystal glass in the living room and what this has to do with the choice of an inland skipper from Enkhuizen
