The former town hall of Bocholtz features a plaque with the names of eleven inhabitants who lost their lives during the war. Their stories, some during and after the liberation, are depicted in a large stained-glass window in the façade of the former town hall.

Father Leonard Thomas was run over by an American convoy. Mathieu Conraads was accidentally shot by border guards after the liberation. Jacob Hamers died of tuberculosis in 1946 as a result of the hardships he had endured as a forced labourer in Germany. Joep Dautzenberg was arrested in July 1944 for unclear reasons and died in December in a satellite camp of Neuengamme concentration camp.
